|For the first time in 10 years, the fish in Meeboer Lake suffered a large-scale die-out because of an aeration system failure. Wyoming Game and Fish Department say snow and ice caused unexpected complications in February, resulting in what they call a winterkill. Although the fisheries biologists resolved the issue, the residual effects of the system failure, lack of sunlight and dying vegetation created deficient oxygen levels in the lake, causing the fish to die.

|The Laramie County Sheriff’s office is excited to announce they are implementing a new rural assistance program.
The office has hired four deputies to cover the more far-reaching eastern and western communities, with each district will get two deputies. Sheriff Brian Kozak said these hires are meant to help rural locations with traffic enforcement and livestock security.
