LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — A University of Wyoming student is spending $1,000 on a fine and a year on probation as part of his sentence for pleading guilty to sexual battery.
The Laramie Boomerang reports 28-year-old Jordan Lee McGuire pleaded guilty May 20 to a sexual battery misdemeanor after the original first-degree sexual assault charge was dropped.
Laramie Police say a man reported Nov. 22 that he blacked out after McGuire served him drinks and woke up in a bathroom to McGuire sexually assaulting him.
McGuire says he didn't serve the man drinks or have any other interaction with him.
UW spokesman Chad Baldwin says student conduct proceedings will determine if McGuire is reinstated at the school or expelled.
McGuire pleaded guilty to a 2007 charge of battery in Illinois. An Indiana jury acquitted him in August on charges that he performed a sex act on a passed out drunk man.
