Natural Disasters? Not in Wyoming.

CHEYENNE, Wyo,-- Earthquakes, mudslides, floods. Natural disasters claim between 10,000 and 300,000 lives around the world, each year.

According to USA Today, Wyoming is one of the safest places in the nation when it comes to natural disasters. A map shows the number of federally declared disaster areas since 1964.

Darker areas indicate that the area is prone to natural disasters. As you can see, Wyoming and Nevada are some of the least-prone states in the U.S.

Darker areas along coastlines and fault lines are more prone to disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes.
