Laramie, Wyo. - Wyoming's football team is on a bye this week and will focus on getting back to full health. The team has been dealing with injuries on both sides of the line, which was evident by Wyoming's depth chart against Wofford last Saturday.
Although Craig Bohl, Wyoming's football coach, said those inexperienced players showed promise in the game against the Terriers, he is focused on getting his starters back on the field come September 29th, when Wyoming hosts Boise State.
Bohl says the team won't do any heavy hitting this week.
"I think we'll have some padded practices but most of the stuff will be non-padded work, working on some fundamentals and getting our position right," said Bohl.
Nico Evans, Wyoming senior running back, was hit in the ribs against Washington State, and has been sidelined for the last two weeks.
Evans says his injury has been painful but he's almost ready to get back on the field.
"If I think about how I felt last week to this week I can't even compare. Last week it was hard to move but this week I'm able to run and do a lot of football activities," said Evans.
