LARAMIE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- UW hosted the Murph Challenge at Tailgate Park to honor Lt. Michael Murphy who was a Navy Seal that died in Afghanistan during service. The challenge started with a one-mile run, then participants had to do 100 pull-ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, ending on another one-mile run.
The Murph Challenge was held at Tailgate Park on the University of Wyoming's campus.
"The whole purpose of this is not to think of this as a day off," UW exercise science teacher Evan Johnson said. "Also to think of this as a day and on a day that we kind of suffer a little bit to honor the memory of people who've died for our country."
The Murph Challenge also takes place in other parts of the US every year, on Memorial Day.
