South high school holds the 'I am the future' football camp for the youth

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- This Bison football team held the 'I am the future' youth summer football camp on June 24-26. The kids at this camp are entering 3rd through 8th grade. Head Coach Dan Gallas says "we want them (the campers) to aspire to one day be like them (the players) so treat them as well as you can just love them to tears and make them have a good time get to know them a little bit and encourage them a whole lot."

The coaches and players teach these kids about positions like quarterback, running back and linemen. The kids also learn how to make a tackle. The Bison football team wants to show these kids that South football has hard workers and strive to be their best everyday.

Senior Alex Soto says "its a great opportunity to get the kids out here they'll work with us and hopefully wanna be like this when they come up I remember when I was doing this camp when I was younger I couldn't wait to be one of the high school kids so I hope they have that same feeling."

Senior Christian Martinez says "I've seen them grow from my freshmen year I've been doing this camp too and shows how much effort they put into this and its just a good feeling."
