CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The South Bison Cheerleading team dominated at state last year, bringing home three titles. "Last year was the very first time that they had the game day compeition so that was the first time we have won that but we have won co-ed three times now and all girl six" said Head Coach Kim Robert. The Bison lost some key seniors from last year and have more underclassmen this season. "It's a lot of pressure I would say going into state cause we did win everything last year and its really hard on all of us but i think we've risen above the occasion we've practiced really we've working really hard and im just super excited to show the state what we got" said South cheerleader Allie Robert.
During the fall season, the team experiments with stunts to see what they like and don't like, they also get a lot of practice at high school games when they are cheering on their school. "It definitely helps a lot having the games because we get to practice in front of a crowd get more comfortable performing the routines for sure as well as the practices its long days but we get to watch it back on a TV so we can improve what our weaknesses are and just make it the best we can" said South cheerleader Alaina Soto.
The Wyoming State cheer and dance competition will be Wednesday, March 11th at the Casper Events Center.
