COLORADO SPRINGS, Col. (Wyoming News Now)- The Wyoming Cowboys dropped their final regular season game against conference foe Air Force, 20-6. Wyoming held Air force to just 162 rushing yards, which is 142 yards below their average. However, the Falcons defense forced three turnovers. The Pokes' were held to 225 yards of total offense.
Wyoming safety, Alijah Halliburton, led the defense with 13 tackles, which would be the sixth game this season recording double-digit tackles. Senior Logan Wilson and junior Garrett Crall each had 10 tackles. Senior kicker, Cooper Rothe, made two field goals, totaling 58 for his career, becoming the all-time leader in made field goals in program history.
For Wyoming’s offense, freshman quarterback, Levi Williams, threw 6-11, 84 yards, and an interception. He rushed 15 times for a career-high 79 yards. Running back, Xazavian Valladay, was held to just 38 yards on 14 carries, ending his five-game streak of +100 rushing yards.
The Cowboys finish the regular season 7-5. They’ll now wait to see where they will play their bowl game. Invitations will be made on Sunday, December 8.
