CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- Softball players from Cheyenne Rec Clubs played in a tournament to honor late umpire, Lenny Soveroski. He served as an umpire for 30 years in Cheyenne.
Cheyenne Rec softball teams pay tribute to a late umpire with a moment of silence.
"Lenny was more than just an umpire, he was an amazing person," Recreation specialist, Scott Redman said.
The Time Bombs, who was a team in the tournament, honored Soveroski by putting his last name on the back of their jerseys.
"It means a lot to me," Widow, Joanne Soveroski on teams honoring Lenny. "It means the world that people remember Len."
Joanne also said that Lenny mainly wanted people to display good sportsmanship when in competition.
