CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- Mother, Delories Bechtel, 50, competes on the Naughty Pines Derby Dames along side her daughters KaRon Carrigan, 30, and JoeDee Bechtel,18.

Mother, Delories Bechtel, competes on the Naughty Pines Derby Dames with daughters KaRon Carrigan and JoeDee Bechtel.

"I love that it's something I can do with my daughters," Delories Bechtel said. "I'm out here skating with my daughters, making memories."

Delories and KaRon have been on the same roller derby team for the past seven years, with this being the first year JoeDee joined the team. With roller derby being a contact sport, members of the family expressed the difficulties of watching their loved ones taking a bump.

"When someone knocks her [JoeDee Bechtel] down, it makes it difficult to focus," KaRon Carrigan said.

"It triggers me a lot," Delories Bechtel said. "Seeing them get hit, trying to hold my composure."

For JoeDee, it's not as difficult to watch her family members take a bump because she believes they'll be alright, regardless.

"I would say it's a little difficult, but at the same time, I know she [Delories Bechtel] can handle herself," JoeDee Bechtel said.

Skating/roller blade has been a passion for Delories Bechtel since she was a child, but it was her daughters who got her into roller derby. The daughters say they took up roller derby because it was something to do with their friends.
