CASPER, Wyo. A new season begins for the Natrona County girls Swimming and Diving team, and they enter it with two key athletes that made a big splash last year.
"Last year I was the only one on our team to make it to qualify for states, except for our diver, and well last year we had a really small team and this year it's gotten bigger so I enjoy that," said junior Audrey Roberts.
Gabby Haigler was also that diver who qualified along with Roberts.
"I set some personal records and I feel like the team just did really good last year as a whole and we took a team to state and we did good at state," said Haigler.
Gabby even took 1st place when she went to states last year.
"My sophomore year I was really in there for the competition and of course still to have fun but I did better my sophomore and the state experience is just amazing," said Haigler.
With all the success last year, they still have things they want to work on for this new season.
"So this season I'm working a lot of new higher level dives that I really wasn't prepared to do last season and I definitely want to go to state again and try and go for a state record," said Haigler.
Roberts said her main goal is to cut time on her 50 and qualify in the fly. The varsity girls swim team will be at Laramie High School on Aug. 31.
