NC Grad continues soccer at Casper College

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) The Casper College Women's Soccer Team will be debuting their season in just a couple of months.

"Yeah the idea of having a new Casper team, that kind of like made me want to do it too, I wanted to continue soccer, I didn't want to leave it behind, and I didn't have any other plans for playing in college, but since this one started I am like oh this is an opportunity might as well just take it," said Natrona County Graduate Cristel Hand Vargas.

Cristel is a recent graduate from Natrona County. She says she really started playing soccer when she got to high school, before she would just play around with her friends. Since she wasn't able to play in her senior season she is excited to continue at the college level.

"I am excited to go and play for Casper and meet new people, but it is a little sad you know I couldn't have my last year with my teammates and my coaches but I am kind of ready to go and step in and so," said Hand Vargas.

The Lady T-Birds will have their first scrimmage on August 13th.
