LCCC basketball splits games on final day of Holiday Classic

LCCC women's basketball team beats Trinidad State on day 2 of the LCCC Holiday Classic, 98-74.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- LCCC basketball hosted Trinidad State Junior College for the second day of the LCCC Holiday Classic. For the women’s team, they won, 98-74. Five Golden Eagles players scored in double-digits with Kaysen Hobbs leading the way with 17 points (7-10 FG). Sam Hester added 14 points. Haylie Anderson and Ja’Kia Wells each added 11 points, and Claudia Hernandez scored 10 points.

For the men, LCCC fell to Trinidad State, 85-68. Kyle Cabs and Erik Oliver were the only Golden Eagles’ to score in double-digits adding 10 points each.

It was the final game in 2019 for both LCCC teams. The women’s next game is on January 2, 2020, at Phoenix College. The men will host Western Nebraska Community College for the Golden Eagles New Year’s Shootout on January 4, 2020.
