Golden Eagles women's soccer team remains at number 4 in NJCAA rankings

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The Laramie County Community College women's soccer team is 8-0-1 this season. The Golden Eagles are coming off a big road win over Central Community College where they won 9-1. This is Head Coach, Jim Gardner's last season coaching the team and he says this team is a special group.

"they work hard in practice they seem to do what they need to do in the games, we've played some high level competition and right now our competitions a little weaker then what it was earlier in the season and they are still playing just as high level as they did."

Gardner believes his team has a good chance at making it into the national tournament if they keep playing at the high level they have been playing at all season.

"I thinks its staying confident but not too confident going out there we have stayed number four like you said for awhile now and going out there and playing how we know how to play" said Sophomore Faith Meredith.

The Golden Eagles are determined to keep their NJCAA ranking in the top five the rest of the season.

"each game we've progressively got better and better and were more determined to get that win at the end of the game" said Sophomore Shaney McCabe.

The Laramie County Community College women's soccer team will have two away games this weekend. They play at Western Nebraska Community College on Friday and play at Northeastern Junior College on Saturday. The ladies will return home on Friday, October 11th.
