Cheyenne, Wyo.- East's starting quarterback, Graedyn Buell, broke his ankle in the T-birds 24-16 win over Rock Springs two weeks ago. Chance Aumiller got the start for East last Friday as the T-birds battled Sheridan.
On East's first drive of the game, Aumiller fumbled the ball twice. The backup quarterback acknowledges nerves played a roll in the game, but says that will change moving forward.
"Just not coming out so nervous and uptight. Remember it's a game and you have to have fun with it. You don't really have to worry about anything, just remember that everyone is going to have your back no matter what, even if you mess up and do things wrong. They are always going to be there to pick you up, you just have to have fun," said Aumiller.
"He's a competitor and that was the cool thing about Friday night. He didn't hang his head, he wasn't crying, he wasn't being a baby - he wasn't doing any of that. He was like 'alright thanks for the shot lets go again next week.' That's the kind of attitude he has and that's why he is where he is," said Chad Goff, East's head football coach.
No. 4 East will host No. 5 Laramie at Okie Blanchard Stadium in the quarterfinals Friday.
