CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The Cheyenne Mustangs are partnering with Triple Crown Baseball, a nationally recognized organization headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado to form Triple Crown Wyoming. The new venture will field teams for 15 to 18 year old players from Wyoming and northern Colorado.
The goal of the partnership is to provide baseball players in Wyoming with enhanced opportunities for development and increased exposure to college recruiting. Triple Crown is well known for producing high caliber collegiate athletes and has connections to college programs across the county. In addition, Triple Crown operates showcase tournaments around the United States known as Pathway Baseball Events. Pathway Event tournaments are a platform for high school players to be seen and evaluated by college coaches from all levels.
Triple Crown Wyoming teams will begin playing in the summer of 2020. Triple Crown will host a tryout for player selection for 2020 teams on Saturday, August 10th from 9 am to 1 pm at Powers Field in Cheyenne, Wyoming. At that tryout, players will also have the opportunity to try out for fall baseball teams operated by Triple Crown Colorado. The Cheyenne Mustangs will continue to have travel teams for younger players aged 8 to 14 years old.
