CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The Cheyenne Extreme 18U softball team played in four games on Saturday, June 6, 2020. They hosted some of the best club teams from Colorado during their quadruple-header.

Cheyenne Extreme player Janey Adair, slides home for the go-ahead run as Cheyenne Extreme 18U defeats the Colorado Angels, 5-4.

The Extreme went 0-2 in their first two games, losing to the Colorado Stars-Sakamoto 1-0, and Prodigy Easton Elite, 14-0. Their next game was against the Colorado Rockettes where they won, 3-1. For the final game, it came down to the last inning, but the Extreme prevailed and beat the Colorado Angels, 5-4.

"This is the toughest competition we ever brought to Cheyenne," Extreme head coach, Adam Galicia said. "All 18A gold teams out of Colorado. Three of them were probably three of the top five teams out in Colorado."

Heading into the top of the fifth inning, Cheyenne was up 4-0, when Colorado scored four unanswered runs to give themselves life and at least an extra inning of play. In the bottom of the fifth with the game tied at 4-4, Cheyenne Extreme's Taylor Klein is at bat and Janey Adair is on third. Klein hits it towards first base and gets tagged out, while Adair runs home for the 5-4 win.

"To stop them at four and to come back and get that extra run to win was a big accomplishment for us," Galicia said.

The Extreme will be back in action until June 20 as they will host the Extreme Weekend Tournament.
