Central tennis team prepared for this season by working hard in the off-season

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)_ Central high school tennis is the defending 4A state champions. The boy's and girl's both brought home a state title last season. The Indians tennis team has already played three matches this season, the boy's won two out of three and the girl's won all three.

This season the team has several new faces and Head Coach Karen Clark likes that they never quit no matter what. Coach Clark says "we have a bunch of great kids and you know they worked really really hard on the off season and they came into the season ready to go and so they put in hard work everyday." During the off-season many of them played at the country club, holiday park and had lessons. Junior Emily Needham says "we have a lot of new people come up we have some sophomores and some freshmen that really show alot of potential were really happy to have them on our team and i really think this year were really developing." The Indians tennis team only has four seniors on it this year. Senior Elijah Norgauer says "people have come out that haven't played on the team before and they have kind of realized they can really compete out here and I think theres a lot of confidence boosting with having a first few good matches but i think that will really be helpful going into the rest of the season."

Central has a match against East on Wednesday.
