Central Indians football team head coach, Mike Apodaca is entering his 2nd season as head coach

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The first day of high school football practice for 4A teams was on Monday, August 12th. Head Coach for Central high school, Mike Apodaca is ready to take on his second season with the team. Coach Apodaca says "we look good you know first days are always a cluttered mess honestly getting kids back in that have been gone a little bit and re issuing new equipment and some of those things but I thought they handled that pretty well and we got 2 good practices in." Last season it was all about the players getting to know Coach Apodaca and this season he is focusing on seeing quicker progression from his players.

Senior on the team, Dawson Macleary will be the leader of the team this season being the starting quarterback. Dawson says "getting to be a senior you get to be those vocal leaders and be the ones that show the little guys the ropes you get have fun going into this season for me its just have fun and do the best i can." Another senior that will be leading the team is Tanner Bullock, Bullock got injured last season and Coach Apodaca says he is a dynamic player on both sides of the ball. Tanner says "ever since we were freshmen we've struggled a bit with are team trying to get our class out and stuff but we have our group of guys we can trust and count on and we've developed that through the years."

Week 0 of high school football will be on August 30th and Central will be away taking on Thunder Basin.
