CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) Casper Speedway is staying positive in hopes their drivers can race this year. They are hopeful they can start come May.
"We are just hoping that the governor says go, I got drivers ready to race, I got spectators ready to come watch, I got volunteers ready to work, we are ready to go," said Faye Nash, Manager of Casper Speedway.
Casper Speedway is set to have their first race on May 15. Right now they have 17 races scheduled this year with the last race ending late August. They have drivers ages 18 to 70 years old. Drivers are from all over the U.S. that participate. They are hoping to still be able to put on a show for their fans this year.
"We have to have our fans, our fans pay our bills, and so we have to have the fans but they are spaced out, and most of our spectators sit in their vehicles and we could space them out big time on the bleachers, we got lots of room up there," said Nash. "So we could space them out we could even space the drivers out in their pits," said Nash.
They still have parking spots available for fans interested in coming out this year.
They say they are always looking for sponsors. For more information you can to go https://www.facebook.com/CasperSpeedwayWY/.
