The Casper Municipal Golf Course is open and ready for the season.

"We are just so excited to be open, we know we had a really difficult start to the year and pumped for golf and if you haven’t been out to the muni yet it is in great shape, come out and play and come see us," said Casper Municipal Golf Course PGA Professional Todd Schafersman.

This year they have a new PGA Golf Professional.

"Born and raised in Nebraska, and went to school at the University of Nebraska, been doing the whole PGA stuff for a while and came from Montrose, Colorado, spent four years as head professional in Montrose at the bridges," said Schafersman.

He has been in the golf business for 15 years and a PGA Professional for 12 years.

“The reason for Casper is probably, mostly, after doing a lot of research on Casper, seeing all the amenities the city offers, being a little bit of a bigger town for us and thinking that is is a great place to raise a family," said Schafersman.

He says he plans to implement some new ideas and with 27 holes the possibilities are endless.

“In the future we do have interest in making some changes, the last PGA Professional here was Gary Marsh and he did a fantastic job of building a great golf tradition here in Casper and at this 27 hole facility, so just trying to go on that and improve and have good customer service and good friendliness," said Schafersman.

Right now for people looking to golf they ask you to reserve a tee time.
