As long as the snow continues to fall, cross-country skiing will be open to the public.

"Casper has a unique situation right now where it is nice and sunny and green in town and you can get out on the trails in town but just a 20 minute drive up, and you are up on the mountain and you can ski," said Cathy Rosser Managing Director at Casper Mountain Biathlon Club.

While events, and practices are called off, people can still get out on the trails at the Casper Mountain Biathlon Club.

"We don't have a building that the public is allowed into, we don't have those kind of concerns of keeping a building free of the virus," said Rosser. "As long as people are following all the recommendations for COVID-19, then cross-country skiing should be a safe activity, we are recommending people use a buff and use it like a mask, and keep even further than the six feet away, 10 minimum."

They will continue to groom the trails so people can get out and ski.

"I think for people's sanity, to get outside, and get fresh air and exercise, we still wanted to be able to provide that service, so we are continuing to groom as long as it's safe and as long as we have enough snow which may be through May," said Rosser.

The ski area at the Casper Mountain Biathlon Club is free and open to the public.
