Casper College Names Shaun Gutting Head Men's Basketball Coach

Former Casper College Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, Shaun Gutting, was promoted to the new head coach for the T-birds. The new hiring comes just a couple of weeks after former head coach, Dan Russell announced he's leaving for Montana State University.

Gutting is entering his second season with the T-birds. During his first year in Casper, the team went 32-3 overall, won the region nine championship, and went to the national tournament for the first time in over 20 years. After such a remarkable year, Gutting knows that expectations will be high.

"Everybody wants to say they want to win 30 games a year. That would be the easy way to say it and the easy thing to say. I think what's more important, and my expectations for this position is to have quality individuals that come into our program and leave it better than they were when they showed up. Guys who have an attitude of improvement. Wanting to get better," said Gutting.
