American Legion baseball 'A' state champs, Cheyenne Post 6 Hawks prepare for the Northwest Regional

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The Cheyenne Post 6 Hawks went undefeated in the Wyoming American Legion Baseball 'A' State tournament. The Hawks beat Douglas Cats in the championship game 5-4 and won their 2nd ever state championship. The Post 6 Hawks are now getting ready to play in the Single A Northwest Regional tournament that will be in Cody, WY from August 9-13. This tournament will be a double elimination bracket.

The Post 6 Hawks team is practicing this week before their game Friday morning. Hawks player Tyler Schlagel says "it's a great experience not a lot of teams get to do it so were looking forward to take it all in, enjoy ourselves and have some fun." Post 6 Hawks player Ty Lobmeyer was named the MVP of the state tournament and he says "its a really cool chance for us, we get to face better competition and see better players, better teams, its gonna be really fun and very enjoyable."
