Zonta Club of Cheyenne is accepting applications for Women in Technology scholarships

CHEYENNE, Wyo (RELEASE_ Applications for the 2019 Women in Technology Scholarship are now available from the Zonta Club of Cheyenne through its website www.cheyennezonta.org. The deadline for receipt of the complete application, including recommendations and other documentation, is July 15, 2019.

The Zonta Club of Cheyenne is offering one $2,000 scholarship to a woman of any age, who is pursuing a technology degree or closely related program or who is pursuing continued advancement in technology. The recipient of the Zonta Club of Cheyenne scholarship may be eligible for further awards at the district/regional level in the amount of $2,000 and at the international level in the amount of $8,000.

Women of any age, pursuing a technology degree or closely related program, who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field, are eligible to apply.

Other requirements include: The applicant must have graduated from a Laramie County high school or have obtained a GED while residing in Laramie County, or must be a current resident of Laramie County. Those who do not meet this qualification should look for other opportunities in other locales at https://foundation.zonta.org/womenintech. Verification of current enrollment by a school or institute official must be provided (if applicable). Two confidential recommendations from a faculty member in the major field of study, from an academic advisor, or from a supervisor must be provided. An essay of 500 words or less that clearly describes your academic and/or professional goals, the relevance of the program of study, and how the Women in Technology Scholarship will assist you in reach your goals must be provided as part of the application. Official detailed transcripts of grades or equivalent records for all universities, colleges, or institutes attend with an explanation of the grading system for each listed transcript. All documents must be written in or translated into English.

Women not enrolled in a university are also eligible as long as they submit: evidence of completed trainings and outstanding performance; a description of her current job with information about the path that lead to that job; employer confirmation and recommendation (or client testimonial); the reason for applying for the scholarship and a description of the applicant’s desired career; and evidence of one’s educational project plan with proof of course opportunities.

The application for the $2,000 award along with instructions for submission may be found on the Zonta of Cheyenne website at www.cheyennezonta.org. The deadline for applications to be received is July 15, 2019. The local award recipient will be selected no later than August 1, 2019.
