Second half run lifts Wyoming past South Carolina 73-64

Laramie, Wyo. - Wyoming (3-6) defeated South Carolina (4-4) 73-64 on Wednesday night in Arena Auditorium.

At the half, Cowboys trailed 37-33. But just two minutes into the second half, South Carolina could not drain a shot.

For five minutes, the Gamecocks went scoreless. Wyoming took advantage of the moment(s), as Cowboys went on a 12-0 run.

The second half run lifted Wyoming over South Carolina 50-43 with 12:40 left in the game.

Senior guard, Justin James, put the finishing touches on the win, making a free throw in the final 25 seconds of the contest.

James finished the night 6-of-10 shooting from the field, made one-hundred percent of his three-pointers (2-2), and went 6-6 at the line.

The senior led the team with 20 points, while teammate Jake Hendricks put up 16 points in the win.

Former Pine Bluffs star, Hunter Thompson, scored six points in the contest.

With the win, Wyoming snaps its two-game losing streak and improves to 3-6 on the season. Cowboys will host the University of Denver, Tuesday, December 11th at 7 p.m.
