A helicopter from Wyoming Game and Fish is working on a population survey for mule deer and elk in the Rattlesnake Hills area. Heather O’Brien, wildlife biologist, said the snow helps them see these animals better. She added they are starting the survey on Monday, Jan. 13 if the weather permits them to fly the helicopter safely. This survey will help plan for the hunting season.
"It's such a complete survey compared to what we normally do out there it's a little bit better information it will kind of help align all of the other pieces of data that we use like our harvest data," O’Brien said.
