Laramie., Wyo - Wyoming defensive end Trey Woods announced he will be 'moving on to something new' in an Instagram post on Wednesday night.

"This game and journey has left me with a heavy heart, so I will be moving on to something new," Woods said.

Woods was Wyoming's leading rusher in 2017, but was moved to defensive end this year.

In his post, he thanked Mike Bath, Cowboys fullbacks and tight ends coach, and A.J. Cooper, defensive ends and special teams coach.

"Thank you coach Bath and coach Cooper. There were a lot of days that weren't easy, but you guys gave me hope and promise. I will always appreciate the both of you as men," said the sophomore.

Woods also thanked the community for the support over the years.

"Thank you to the fans and everyone that believed in a kid that didn't always believe in himself," Woods said.

CBS NewsChannel 5's Anna Logan reached out to Woods and is awaiting further comment.
