The Wyoming Board of Medicine is taking steps to make it easier for physicians practicing in Wyoming.

Steps such as extending the deadline to renew their licenses. The board believes this will make it easier for physicians to focus on their patients during the global pandemic.

The board is seeing more physicians apply to practice over tele-health in Wyoming. This would allow patients to stay at home, instead of traveling to neighboring states where there appointment would normally beheld in person.

Executive Director Kevin Bohnenblust said, "The initial reports we've heard is that it's working very well for some practices."

"We've even got some Wyoming practices that are taking care of patients from Nebraska via tele-health," he said. "That's really where the growth is, that's also where the really safe spot is to be."

The board has moved the deadline for physicians to re-certify their licenses from June 30 to September 30.
