CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Winter weather is closing most of the interstates across the Cowboy State.
As of 9:00 pm on Friday, I-25 is closed north of Cheyenne all the way through Buffalo. To our west, I-80 is closed all the way to Evanston. I-25 south of Cheyenne is currently open but the WYDOT travel map shows conditions as wet, slick in spots with snowfall, fog, and reduced visibility. No unnecessary travel is advised.
Weather forecasts call for 2 to 4 inches of snowfall in Cheyenne through Saturday night, and wind gusts are expected to reach 75 mph at times. In Casper, the winds aren't expected to be an issue but snow totals are expected to be higher. Forecasts call for 5 to 9 inches of snowfall in Casper.
