Wind City Physical Therapy hosting a virtual duathlon

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) With a virtual duathlon, you can still get exercise and enjoy the fresh air outside, but track your progress virtually.

"We are always excited when our community comes to us with an awesome idea like this, especially since this can help build the family unit, if your family goes out and does it together, or if you are a parent who needs to go out on a run on their own, we know some of those folks do too, go ahead and go online and log that, you will get a t-shirt which is awesome, and you will also be doing good for the community just by doing what you love," said Jamie Purcell Executive Director of Wyoming Food for Thought Project.

Wind City Physical Therapy is hosting this event with all proceeds going to Wyoming Food for Thought Project.

"We wanted to partner with Wyoming Food for Thought in making it more community based and partnership wise, so our duathlon has now turned into a one mile walk run, a 12 mile bike, and then a three mile walk run where anyone can do it and they got two weeks to complete it instead of just one day like the original triathlon," said Marketing Manager for Wind City Physical Therapy Jen Trupp.

This will take place from June 14th to June 27th and it is 30 dollars to register.

"So we do weekend food bags for kids right here in our community and that is why we are partnering with Wind City Physical Therapy, we feed 925 local kids every single weekend through those food bags, each bag has a breakfast lunch and dinner item in it to help kids bridge the gap of usually when we are in school," said Purcell. "During this time the school district is doing free meals, breakfast and lunches during the week and then they are also providing some weekend food then we come in with our traditional weekend food bags and make sure those kids that we have been serving over the course of the school year are still getting those food bags."

For anyone that wants a t-shirt must register by June 1st. For more information go to:
