Volunteers needed to clean up Downtown Cheyenne

By  |

CHEYENNE, Wyo - In a hopeful nod that spring is almost here, Downtown Cheyenne is asking for volunteers to help with flower planting and general clean up on Saturday, June 1 from 8 am - noon – with a “thank you” cookout following at noon, on the patio of Danielmarks Brewing Company.

Volunteers will assemble at the DDA office, 1601 Capitol Avenue, at 8 am for coffee, donuts and assignments; then strike out in small teams to replenish soil in the planters, plant this season’s flowers and clean up any trash they may see along the way. The bags of potting soil and bedding plants will be dropped at each planter location making it easier for the volunteers. The DDA will provide gloves, small gardening tools and trash bags. Volunteers may also bring their own tools and gloves. As a thank you, volunteers will receive “Downtown Hero” t-shirts for helping out.

This half-day event is a great way for families to spend time together giving back to the community. Please RSVP by noon on Friday, May 31, so that adequate preparations can be made for the cookout.

To RSVP, or for questions, please contact Genee Vidakovich at dda-admin@downtowncheyenne.com or call her at 307-433-9730.
