A Utah man is under arrest for human trafficking after an undercover operation by Cheyenne Police.

The bust happened on Friday June 29 at the Candlewood Suites just West of Town.

The Detective made the arrangement over text message after meeting a woman on a website commonly used to promote prostitution. Once he arrived the woman then set up an encounter with another woman inside the hotel.

After CPD revealed their identity, both women told them about the operations. The women told officers that they traveled to Cheyenne from Salt Lake City, UT with 35-year-old Terry Blanks. They added that he was collecting the proceeds of their commercial sexual services.

One woman told CPD that Blanks was her “boyfriend” and “bodyguard”.

Blanks was contacted by CPD outside of the hotel while sitting in a car. He denied any involvement and stated he was merely traveling with the two women.

Blanks faces charges of First Degree Human Trafficking, possession of marijuana, and interference with peace officer.
