Laramie, Wyo. - Utah State defeated Wyoming in five sets on Thursday night, eliminating Wyoming in the first round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship.
Junior Halie McArdle led the team with 19 kills adding 16 digs. Junior Madi Fields led the team with 24 digs.
Including McArdle, five Cowgirls finished the night with double figure kills. Emily Lewis finished the match with 14, while senior Reed Copeland and 11, and Jackie McBride and Tara Traphagan both had 10.
Cori Aafedt fell just a couple assists short of her career high with 39 to lead the Pokes.
The Cowgirls finish the season at 20-11, after making its second-straight postseason appearance. The last time a Wyoming volleyball team made back-to-back postseason appearances was 1989-90.
The Cowgirls finished third in the Mountain West Conference with a 12-6 record.
