Two bicyclists embark on a cross country journey to raise money for a local charity
On Saturday two Cheyenne residents will embark on a bicycle journey to raise money for Grace for 2 Brothers. Patrick Graham and Mark Wells will leave Cheyenne Saturday, June 15. They are inviting the public to send them off. The send off will be at Holliday Park next to the Big Boy starting around 8am.
In 2015, Patrick bicycled solo from Cheyenne to San Francisco. During that ride he was asked several times if it was a charity ride. In 2016, while preparing for a ride from Cheyenne to Orlando, he was further encouraged by friends to make the trip a ride for charity. That’s when Cycleoflife.com was formed.
Cycleoflife.com which is now called CycleForLife.club, was created to promote awareness and fundraising for people in need in Laramie County. In the first year Cycle of Life raised just over $20,000 for three local charities: Day of Giving, Across the Street Homes and Habitat for Humanity.
This year Patrick Graham and Mark Wells are teaming up to bike to an undisclosed location to raise money for Grace for 2 Brothers.
“No one is immune from experiencing depression at some point in their life. It can be triggered by various biological psychological and environmental factors” Patrick said “Recently, the circumstances in my life caused me to struggle with depression. While a friend with good intentions may offer you the advice that “time heals all wounds” it is during that “time” when someone could use the support and resources of GF2B the most.”
You have a chance of winning a $2000 gift card, all you have to do is go to the Cycle for life’s website and guess where the final destination Mark and Patrick are bicycling to and how many miles. You can also win smaller prizes by guessing daily miles Mark and Patrick will travel.
