Two people are in custody after a brief chase through Cheyenne Sunday night.

According to Captain Linda Gesell with the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were attempting to stop a silver Kia in the 900 block of Avenue C for a traffic violation.

Deputies report the vehicle didn’t stop and a brief pursuit ensued. Speeds reportedly did not exceed much over 60 mph. Deputies followed the car for almost 7 miles before it came to a stop in the 2800 block of Myers Court.

According to Captain Gesell, the driver of the Kia exited and fled on foot. K9 Hilde tracked the subject, Joseph Girone, down in a nearby shed. He was placed in custody and charged with fleeing/eluding arrest, reckless driving, interference with a peace officer and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

The female passenger of the vehicle, Sarah Harris, was placed under arrest for a felony warrant out of Colorado.
