Two Cowboys accept invites to play in prominent postseason games

Laramie, Wyo. - Wyoming senior defensive end, Carl Granderson, and senior strong safety Andrew Wingard, have accepted invitations to play in prominent postseason games.

Granderson will take part in the Reese’s Senior Bowl, while Wingard will play in the East-West Shrine Game.

This season, Wingard tied the Mountain West Conference record for career tackles with 454. He is second all-time in Wyoming history in career tackles, and is tied for 20th in NCAA history.

Granderson has recorded 35.5 career tackles for loss to rank No. 3 in Wyoming school history. Over the last year, the defensive end was named to the 2018 Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List, the 2018 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List and the 2018 Ted Hendricks Award Watch List.

The Reese's Senior Bowl kicks off Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be televised on NFL Network. Kick off is at 12:30 p.m., Mountain Time.

The East-West Shrine Game will be played on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Kick off is at 1:00 p.m., Mountain Time. The game will be televised on NFL Network.
