The city of Cheyenne is expanding along the southeastern part of town. Various transportation projects are in the works. One specific plan, the Christensen Railroad crossing, will connect Interstate 80 to Dell Range Blvd.

The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization says it needs the community's input for future projects on the horizon.

"We play an important role in assuring the public stays involved. The public's comments, their desires, their wishes are incorporated and used in the best way possible," City of Cheyenne, Planning and Development Director, Charles Bloom said.

The MPO Director stated the various projects take decades to handle the growth of the community. Individual efforts like the Christensen Bridge serve as the gateway to the expansion of Southeastern Wyoming.

"With residential and business growth in the eastern edge of town, we knew we needed another location to intersect the railroad track. This new bridge will be the last crossing of the railroad tracks, that Cheyenne will see for many decades," Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization, Director, Tom Mason said.
