Three Casper pools set to open next week

CASPER Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) The lazy river is full and the lawn around it is mowed at Mike Sedar pool, one of the five pools opening June 22.

Edwin Luers, Casper aquatics manager, said they are allowing half the capacity they normally do.

“One person for 120 square feet is the state regulations right now so we based our capacity on that,” Luers said.

Mike Sedar, Marion Kreiner and the Casper Family Aquatic Center will be open with some changes.

Luers added there will be spaces for people going down the slide to stand so they can be socially distanced.

Also, there will be cleaning breaks every two hours for the outdoor pools, but swimmers can stay in the pool.

However, at the aquatic center, everyone will have to leave, but will not be charged for re-entry.

Luer said he’s excited to see the community will be able to swim this summer.

“I’m super excited the pools are opening. Casper loves them and I’m happy we can give it to the community,” Luers said.

He adds they won’t be providing lounge chairs at the outdoor pools, but people can bring their own chairs.
