CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) With possible storms affecting Casper this week, the Natrona County School District released its inclement weather protocol.

The NCSD will close schools if the weather is dangerous to the community. Closings include full closure, late start, early dismissal and full or partial options in Natrona County Schools.

Tanya Southerland, public information officer for the NCSD, said safety is the priority when it comes to making a decision on closing schools.

The NCSD works with their emergency management team, WYDOT, the city of Casper and other community organizations to ensure safety during inclement weather.

The NCSD also communicates through the campus parent app.

"We do utilize campus parent to send out texts, phone calls and also emails." Southerland said.

The NCSD encourages students and parents to monitor the campus parent app, social media and local media outlets when inclement weather is present.
