CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now)- The Hawthorn Tree had its grand opening in downtown Cheyenne, bringing herbs, tea, gifts, and meditation into the capital city.
“It’s like kind of a sigh of relief,” owner of The Hawthorn Tree, Susan Allen said. “It’s just like 'Wow, it's finally here,' we can go up and meditate and just relax and enjoy our customers."
As an herbal tea apothecary, The Hawthorn Tree looks to bring a different feel to Cheyenne.
“I’m just so excited for Susan to open this apothecary,” Cheyenne resident, Kathy Reckling said. “I’ve been with her watching her develop this for months and it’s just so exciting to support her.”
With roughly 150 herbal teas on site, along with a meditation room, it’s safe to say this is not your typical store. Allen feels the timing of opening shop is important for the community, as fears spread due to COVID-19.
“I think we’ve all kind of ran through that fear cycle and we’re hoping this is a place for people to come and actually feel safe and relaxed,” Allen said.
Staff hopes this shop will help people relax and enjoy time with others in the community.
“It’s so unique and it’s going to be such a nice place to come in and hang out and be comfortable,” Reckling said. “Just a good way to come in and have community, a sense of group.”
