Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival is excited to present its sixth annual premier and award ceremony on May 27th at the historic Atlas theatre in Cheyenne.

The Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival (CYSFF) is a fantastic annual festival that celebrates our young filmmakers from around the state and beyond.

The festival was established in 2013 to give young people, 18 years of age and younger, the chance to not only create and compete with their original productions, but to have an opportunity to see their films showcased on the big screen.

It is not too late to fulfill your dreams and start making your own indie film for this year’s competition!

The contest kicks off on April 27th at 5:00 PM in the Laramie County Library’s Willow Room, with the release of the “brief,” which details the film requirements. The “brief” will then be posted on the festival’s Facebook page and CYSFF.net website that evening. Participants will have two weeks to make their ideas come to life. It is FREE to enter!

Films are due May 11th, 2018 by 5:00 PM. Entries will be accepted in person at the Laramie County Library on this date. Arrangements for online submission can also be made by sending Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival a message through their Facebook page or website.

A panel of judges will select nominations for various categories and best overall picture. These nominations will be released on the Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival’s Facebook page and the website.

On May 27th, 2018, the Premiere and Awards Ceremony and Premiere Event for this year’s contest will showcase the top films and award prizes beginning at 6:00 PM at the Atlas Theatre in downtown Cheyenne. Trophies and prizes will be awarded for the top films of each category, as well as certificates and prizes for the winners of other categories.

Everyone involved in making a film for this year’s contest will have free entry to the premiere. The public is invited and the entrance fee for all other audience members is only $5 at the door. Come in your semi-formal attire and help support our young filmmakers!
