Strong Storms Possible Tomorrow, More Rain Chances on the Way
Good afternoon! It was a record breaking day across the region, with a high of 106 in Chadron, NE and most other places in Nebraska going over the century mark. Tonight, any shower or storm activity will diminish leading to a partly cloudy night with lows in the 50s and 60s.
Tomorrow, an upper level disturbance will move into the region, and along with unstable conditions, it will lead to some strong to marginally severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Main threats will be winds 40-60mph, and hail up to quarter size. With monsoonal moisture in place, heavy rainfall will be an issue as well, leading to ponding on the roadways. Highs tomorrow will be in the 80s and 90s.
Showers and storms will remain in the forecast for the rest of the workweek. A slightly higher chance for rain will occur on Wednesday, as another upper level disturbance moves into the region. We will also have to watch for the threat of stronger storms late Wednesday afternoon. Highs will remain in the 80s and 90s, and lows in the 50s and 60s.
Temperatures look to get back into the 90s and possibly 100s with drier weather next week.
Have a great night!
