CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -- WyOpen will be the new online platform displaying the state's checkbook. Auditor Kristi Racines (R), said, "Folks want to see the checkbook online."
The Wyoming State Auditor's office said WyOpen makes the state's checkbook available to the public.
Racines said some information isn't available for confidentiality reasons, but it can show, for example, the amount a department pays to a particular entity.
Gail Symons, who is a Wyoming Transparency Committee member, said, "Let's use what we've got. It is an incredible step forward." She said getting feedback from users will help them to develop the system more in the future.
The Auditor's office says it will be rolling out WyOpen within six weeks.
Governor Gordon's office will also be rolling out a new website. The office says it will be available in November.
