Silent Witness March seeks to raise awareness on eliminating domestic violence this coming Monday, November 25th

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (WYOMING NEWS NOW) -- Nearly one half of the female homicide victims in the US are killed by an intimate partner or a family member. And, there are 49 countries in the world who do not have laws protecting women from domestic violence. So, the Silent Witness March will be on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The Marchers will meet November 25th at the Capitol and walk to the
Library carrying silhouettes of victims of domestic violence from
Laramie County. There will be a signing of a proclamation about 16
Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence by the Mayor, and the
Silhouettes will remain at the Library through December 5th so people
can read the stories of the Victims. It is all part of the awareness
campaign about Domestic Violence, and we have done this annually for
nearly 10 years. The public is encouraged to join the Silent Witness
March and to view the stories of these victims at the Library.
