Laramie County has three football teams that made it to the semifinals

The first round of the high school football playoffs were Friday, November 1st. In 4A, Central and East are headed to the semifinals. In 2A, Burns is headed to the semifinals.

Burns hosted Big Piney for the first round and won 57-6. The Broncs had a big lead at the half 36-0. Burns had 330 rushing yards in the first half of the game. This is the first time Burns has won a playoff game since 2008. Burns will travel to take on number 1 seed in the west Mountain View for the semifinals.

East hosted Natrona County for the first round and beat the Mustangs 35-14. The score was Natrona County up 7-6 at halftime and East came out strong in the 3rd quarter. East scored three touchdowns in the 3rd quarter and took the lead 28-7. East will travel to take on Number 1 seed Thunder Basin in the semifinals.

Central hosted Rock Springs for the first round and beat the Tigers 20-16. At halftime, Rock Springs was up 16-7. In the 4th quarter, Central took the lead with around 3 minutes to go with a 48 yard touchdown from Carter Labatos. Central will travel to take on number 2 seed Sheridan in the semifinals.

Semifinals will be on Friday, November 8th.
