CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) The volunteers for the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Cheyenne met Aug. 7 for a recruitment event at the local Old Chicago. The two mile walk is on Saturday, Sept. 28 starting at noon at the Lion’s Park South Picnic Shelter.
Although the walk continues to get bigger every year, the volunteers are always looking for more teams to sign up. The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that 5.8 million Americans are living with the disease right now.
“This is something that affects the whole family, our community, so as a team we want to get together and raise the money to find a cure,” said Leslie Milliken, Executive Director of Aspen Wind Memory Care.
