"If you think about it, you're standing on top of a national treasure or a national asset," Lieutenant Colonel Justin McMillian, said.
Wyoming parks partnered with Armed Forces and aerospace giant Boeing, for the opening of the underground museum.
This site is the only accessible Peacekeeper Missile alert facility left in the world preserving the Cold War history.
The Military, Federal and State Officials gathered with family and friends to tour the facility Saturday morning.
This once weapon of destruction is now tourist attraction for all of Wyoming.
"I'm very proud to have a small role in this effort, and now the public has a lasting opportunity to better understand our political and military and social history through this site," State Historic Preservation Officer, Mary Hopkins said.
State officials say...Quebec 01 will be undergoing different phases of improvements to restore and bring exhibits to life for the future.
