As the 2019 Wyoming Legislative Session is nearing a close, we're taking a look back at how 2018 influenced education.

Superintendent Jillian Balow explains, "In 2018, the Wyoming Legislature passed some of the most aggressive computer science legislation in the nation. And we have a number of states following us now."

One of the charges was to implement computer science education in every grade by the year 2022/2023.

Over the past several months, a committee of educators, business and technology experts, and leaders from across the state have developed kindergarten through twelfth grade computer science standards to be implemented.

There was an opportunity for public comment before the committee developed the standards and now, there is another opportunity for the public to give their thoughts.

You are encouraged to visit https://edu.wyoming.gov/ access the computer science standards, and provide any feedback.
