Plane crashes near Converse Ave

An emergency landing left a small plane in the field on Converse Avenue by the baseball fields south of Dell Dange Thursday afternoon. The crash happened just before 3pm. Both occupants walked away from the accident on their own.

The small plane has been towed from the field and the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct an investigation into the cause of the landing.

Around the same time, an Air Guard C-130 with multiple emergency crews sat at the airport. The two events are unrelated.

Converse Avenue was closed in both directions for several hours, but has since reopened.
